Day One
Morning
Start the day off with some retail therapy at York Designer Outlet where you will find over 120 stores, designer and high street brands all with up to 60% off rrp everyday.
Lunch
After some retail therapy relax at one of the cafes including Pret a Manger, Thorntons and Starbucks or enjoy lunch at Pizza Express.
Afternoon
Just a 10 minute bus ride from the Designer Outlet is a whole host of attractions in York city centre. Spend the afternoon taking in the historic sites of York with a walk around the Roman walls, a visit to the magnificent York Minster or step back in time at one of the cities museums such as the Jorvik Viking Centre, Castle Museum or National Railway Museum.
Evening
Take a walk along the River Ouse and stop off at one of the riverside bars, or dine at one of the stylish restaurants in the city. A visit to one of the country’s most picturesque walled cities is the perfect way to end to a day in this part of the world.
Day Two
Morning
Start the day with a river cruise with York Boat - operating frequently everyday throughout the summer. Enjoy a relaxing 45 minute cruise, journeying up river with a full captain’s commentary.
Lunch
Eat in one of York’s many cafés including the famous Betty’s tearooms.
Afternoon
Spend the afternoon discovering the wonders of York’s stunning architecture including Treasurers House, Cliffords Tower, Merchant Adventurers Hall and The Shambles, a medieval street full of unique boutiques that provides the perfect photo opportunity.
Evening
After dusk, prepare for a fright by taking a guided ghost tour of the city. Tours operate each evening and last about an hour. Alternatively York’s two theatres and art house cinema offer a wide range of entertainment for you to enjoy. Round off the evening with a drink in one of York’s traditional pubs to complete your visit to this vibrant city.
